Here are some highlights of my first few days in Taiwan...

It's wasn't a good start because two hours after I landed in Taiwan, I had to attend my grandfather's funeral...maybe I was tired and out of it or maybe it was the atmosphere, but  I felt weird, like it wasn't real..but anyways, I'm glad that I got to see him for the last time. I also got to meet most of my cousins who I have only met once or twice before and we became really close. Most of them are ABCs, so they are really outgoing (not to mention LOUD...haha). On Wednesday when our parents were taking care of post-funeral stuff, we went to the SOGO in 新竹(and played foosball for like an hour with whichever kids we could attract and grab). Because we were a bunch of loud, English-speaking people, we attracted many shoppers and I could tell the workers were trying really hard not to laugh. After we got sweaty from playing foosball, we went to night market to eat and goof around. Eric is obssessed with the 夾娃娃機. he spent like NT$300 on it. he was good at it, but there was a white bear that he just couldn't get. I decided to try it out for the first time in my life. Either I accidentally pushed the button or I ran out of time, the hook went down before I aimed, so i was like, OH NO!! Then the hook grabbed the white bear and another blue bear right by it (of course, the white bear did not want to get caught...it sat right back down to the same exact spot), but I won the blue bear....I was so lucky!! At the end, the white bear was still sitting in the machine laughing at us.....we didn't go back to my aunt's house until past midnight. The next day we went to 台北五分埔 to shop for clothes. While we looked for clothes, Jeff took pictures of some writings on the shirt that either don't make sense or are hilarious. We are easily amused!! After we finished shopping , we went to another night market to have more fun. Then..it was good-bye. Nobody wanted to say good-bye. We hung out in the train station for the longest time for pictures, videos, and hugs. Again, people were staring at us and trying to hide their laughs, but I was having too much fun to care. We had so much fun hanging out together during these few days, and I will never forget the great times we have shared. Jeff and Andrea live in Connecticut, Eric lives in Pennsylvania, and Troy lives in Taoyuan. We are all over the world!! I really hope we can hang out like this again....
